Another outstanding Football-Pickers.com radio show!

Notes from tonight’s radio show:

After the Waterboy tribute to Jerry Reed, we asked Big Mike to tell us what he saw in the Washington Redskins – New York Giants game, which he picked correctly yesterday:

  • QB on 8th Off Coord in 8 years.
  • First-time head coach (Jim Zorn) with no pedigree doomed to failure.
  • Defending world champs with a WR  (Plaxico Burress) who always shows up to play on game day.

T-Love’s thoughts:

  • NYG disrespected by the spread.
  • Agreed with Big Mike’s assessment.

Big Mike’s guaranteed money-maker pick of the week:

vs. New Orleans Saints, Bucs win outright. Current line is Bucs +3.5

  • Bucs owned NO last year.
  • Only improvement NO made was their draft pick, who won’t be a factor.
  • NO spent the week distracted by Hurricane Gustav.
  • Predicts the score around 13-10.
  • Joey Galloway owns NO defensive backfield.
  • Drew Brees doesn’t beat the Bucs.
  • Aquib Talib is an upgrade to injured Brian Kelly and can match up with Marquis Colston.
  • Jermaine Phillips back in solid form, Tenard Jackson more experienced.
  • Laughs at Reggie Bush.

T-love’s thoughts:

  • Likes the under (42.5), predicts 16-13 TB win.
  • TB defense matches up well with NO, and offense won’t be explosive.

Other games:

T-Love likes Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens

  • Still has Carson Palmer
  • An outright win by Cincinnati covers the 1.5 point spread.
  • Cin will fill the box and force the rookie to win.

Big Mike agrees:

  • Rookie QB for Baltimore with no dominant running game, Willis McGahee and Ray Rice banged up.
  • Amazed by 1-point spread.
  • First thought was 28-9 Cincinnati.

Big Mike looked at Seattle – Buffalo, 1-pt game:

  • Seattle banged up, Matt Hasselbeck dinged in preseason, a couple WR hurt, likes Julius Jones at tailback but can’t spread the field with hurt WRs.
  • Buffalo most overrated team every year.

Recommends avoiding the game altogether.

T-Love doesn’t know what to expect from Buffalo on opening day.

Big Mike talked about Detroit Lions vs. :

  • Staying away from the game.
  • Atlanta will have a good turnaround, but not in first game.
  • Lions in 2nd year with Cover-2.

T-Love liked the under on Lions – Falcons (41 pts)

  • Detroit will be more conservative, not many points.
  • Rookie QB (Matt Ryan) in Atlanta.
  • Sees 16-13 or 14-10 type of game.

Mike likes the Over on Dallas – Cleveland game (49 pts)

  • Fun game, predicts 70 points.
  • Romo owns Cleveland and will put up 42 minimum.

T-Love agrees.

College Football

Big Mike thanked the ladies of the Big 10 for sending in their photos, but unfortunately they did not have bigger breasts than Phil Fulmer. He hates Fulmer and Tommy Bowden.

T-Love tells us Tommy Bowden called Nick Saban to ask what his weaknesses were!
Don't diss the Butterbean!
Big Mike:

  • Getting out-coached by Nick Saban is like getting beat in the mile by Butterbean.
  • Nick Saban is a helluva recruiter, proved it with Julio Jones, but not someone to get coaching advice.

University of Central Florida (UCF) vs. University of South Florida (USF), (UCF +13)

  • Big Mike likes USF covering the spread big.
  • Last year USF beat UCF by 40+ pts. (64-12 last year).
  • UCF lost their best player, had a death in preseason workouts, did not improve.
  • USF improved over last year, more experienced.
  • Bet your rent money!
  • T-Love wants to know how UCf is 20 pts better than last year, USF 20 pts worse than last year?
  • Big Mike claims this as LOCK OF THE WEEK!

(UF) vs. University of Miami (UM) (Mia +23 pts):

  • T-Love doesn’t like the game, doesn’t know what to expect, doesn’t know if Tebow will be in long enough to cover the spread.

WV vs. East Carolina:

  • T-Love likes WV to cover the 8-point spread, predicts a 2-touchdown spread.
